Antibes is a gem on the French Riviera, blending heritage, medieval architecture, and seaside charm. Here’s what you absolutely shouldn’t miss:
Marché Provencal – the local morning market/farmers market
This covered market place is a sensory delight. Open in the mornings, it’s packed with fresh produced veggies and fruits, some vendors of cheeses, honey and meat. Also fresh flowers offered. It’s the perfect spot to grab the veggies for the lunch or dinner.
Musée Picasso
Located in the Château Grimaldi, this museum showcases Picasso’s works created during his stay in Antibes in 1946. The setting itself is a stunning historic castle perched above the sea and the collection includes paintings, ceramics, and drawings that reflect his Mediterranean inspiration. It’s a must for art lovers and history buffs alike.
Fort Carré
This 16th-century star-shaped fortress offers panoramic views of the coastline and Port Vauban, one od Europe’s largest (and deepest) marinad. Surrounded by nature and wildlife, it’s a peaceful escape with a touch of military history. The fort’s unique architecture and elevated position make it a photographer’s dream.

Just stroll around passing the few squares located within the city seaside wall and the more modern parts of the city (Place de Gaulle and Boulevard Albert 1er).
Cap d’Antibes
